Cuteness.

Little sis...could she be more cute?!?

And look at that fur & aviators, watch out this girl has style!

Stunning.

Hello Friday.

Goodie goodie gum drops, it's Friday! I was hoping for a call today (of what I can't say), but it's 2:00 PM and it hasn't come yet. I hate sitting by the phone waiting, don't you? I'm trying to keep myself busy....but it's so hard! I'm also trying to stay positive and only let positive thoughts in my mind...do you believe in positive thinking?

Anyhoo, I also created a fan page for my business, Style Me Laura. I would be so flattered if you could become a fan!

A few favorites.

A few of my favorite pics from Weardrobe Top 100!
I loved flipping through this little black book of style mavens. They are such a fantastic resource for inspiration.

I've been feeling yellow.

I've been seeing yellow everywhere and I'm just crazy for it! I've always loved the color yellow. It's a happy cheerful color and it makes me smile. Whether cooking, decorating or wearing it, yellow is all around and its got me in a yellow state of mind...*Smile*

Still in love.

I still adore oxfords. I had a little obsession with them this past fall and let me tell you I'm still loving every square inch of this trend. There is something really sexy about wearing a men's inspired shoe...

Could you resist these oxfords? I am crazy over the intricate metallic gold lattice. I can see wearing these in the early stages of spring with tights and then gradually wearing them without tights as the weather gets warm. Oh so cute!

A touch of color.

What better way to ring in the New Year than a little pop of canary yellow, peaking out from a sea of gray and black? I think my cravings for spring are beginning to show through my chattering teeth and mink earmuffs, which I wear daily to ward off the freezing weather!

Hello 2010!

Happy New Year.

I have never been one for setting New Year Resolutions, however I do like to set goals. I know, you're thinking aren't they the same thing? For some odd reason, when I set goals I tend to keep and follow-through on them. Resolutions I'll set and then they are history a few weeks later.
For 2010, I have long a list of goals ahead of me. Especially leaving 2009 in the dust and welcoming a new year & decade.

Here are a few I'd like to share:

1. Blog at least 3 times a week (I was so good at this last year) .
2. Invest in a better camera.
3. Learn about one of my passions: photography.
4. Bake a new recipe at least once a month.
5. Make an effort to keep in touch with my friends & network.
6. Smile every day.
7. Read a book a month.
8. Bid & land another freelance gig.
9. Save money.
10. Do pilates at least three times a week.
11. Walk daily.
12. Drink water everyday (bye, bye diet coke).
13. Volunteer at least once a month.
14. Read the news daily.
15. Focus on being positive everyday of the week.

I think that's enough for now.

I leave you with this lovely image....(maybe this will be me in the next few months?)!

Blog Fail.

Oops I did it again. I said I was here to stay and then I disappeared for a while. Its been one of those busy times. One in which the the world spins, whisking you on an even faster whirl wind ride. I missed writing my thanksgiving thanks and I am just days before xmas and I haven't done a single gift guide or anything of the sort-Total Blog Fail!

My dear friends, please forgive me for this long absence. I thought about writing and I wanted to write, but each time I sat down at my computer, there seemed to be another task that was pulling me away from Classic Twist. I will be continuing to write and keeping up with fashion, interiors, photography and much more....I really do promise!

Right now, I'd like to reflect 2009. This year has been a unique year in so many ways. I've been shaken to the core, stripped down and forced to really take a close look at how I was living my life before and what values I have for living my life going forward. Some periods of this shake down have not been pretty, while others have blossomed and flourished more then I could have imagined.

As we near the close of 2009, I'd like to reflect on what I'm thankful for this year.....

I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend who has been my biggest cheerleader this year. Supporting me in every crazy idea I threw out in the wind. He has been my backbone and I couldn't have done it without him.

For our cat, Max. He is a crazy little kitten and even though he attacks me and thinks I am a cat too, I still love the crazy Max cat.

For our lovely apartment in NYC.

Central Park. A little piece of nature, which is so calming when you live in a big city. Taking long walks everyday has helped me stay sane.

For  a new understanding of life and how you can't take things for granted.

For my health.

For learning that laughter can be a healer and the best medicine.

For my best friends that consistently listen to my problems, cry and laugh with me.

Saying good-bye to cable forever. Honestly if you haven't zapped cable do it now. You will cherish your time amongst loved ones, read and just be happier all around.

Expanding my mind and soul in all areas of my life.

For my family for being a great support system.

For red wine.

And for all the small things. They really do matter and life is so much better when approached with optimism and a smile.

**I feel like I could go on and on and on, but I've said enough for now**

May this next week be spent amongst family and loved ones. Relax, eat lots of food, most importantly smile and be happy!

I will be traveling to West Virgina for the rest of the week and I'll have very limited access to e-mail, thus we will meet again in a week.

I hope all your holiday wishes come true!

xoxo

Style Icon.

I am so inspired by the classic sophisticated style of Audrey Hepburn. I love the classic lines, simplicity, yet ladylike and glamorous look. She is a complete inspiration to me in my style, work & life.

White jeans for fall.

What are your thoughts on white jeans in Fall? I personally love it! I tried it the other day, layered with dark gray, orange and brown boots...I'm always a bit hesitant about wearing white jeans in the fall weather, but after seeing this image, it confirmed my feelings. Fashion rules are meant to be broken!
