Color inspiration.

I adore this color combination. Perfectly subtle and sweet.

Oh it's you again.

I'm hoping these lovely flower pictures will hold you over...I jetted off to Chicago this past weekend and came back to loads of work! Hello, exhaustion...it was nice to meet you, but I'm just fine without you.
These pictures were taken on a overcast afternoon in Chicago.

Maxi mission.

I'm a huge fan of the maxi dress, however I actually don't own one! You see, I'm not the tallest gal and I'm a bit petite too. So when I slip on a maxi dress, it seems to gobble me right up. BUT, this year I'm on a mission to find a chic maxi with a unique bohemian print.

The other day I stumbled upon these and they seem just about perfect.

A twisted affair.

There is something about braiding my hair that makes me giddy. Maybe it's nostalgia. Memories of my mother french braiding my hair as a little girl. I always felt so pretty & carefree, running around with my hair braided. To this day, each time I braid my hair, I harbor these same feelings.

I love these grown-up twists of the beloved braid.

The dream.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, could you please give me this room??

I'd adore an extra room for all my clothes & shoes (the ultimate walk-in closet). Oh to dream, to dream. I can say with certainty that this is soon-to-be hubby's dream too. To store my clothes anywhere but in our room, closet, extra closet, dressers, corners and anywhere else I can store a shoe, scarf, sweater, etc, etc....what can I say, I'm a gal who's a lover of all things style.
*sigh*

Oh that's just..

 {Image via}

lovely. Yes, I'm sure the boutique Lovely represents it's name perfectly, however I didn't have the pleasure of finding out. I had it all planned out well in advance. Appointment booked, 2 great friends in tow and to follow, a little celebration brunch accompanied by one round of champagne. Does a Sunday, get any better?

Saturday, I woke up with a tickle in my throat. Just a little tickle. I shrugged it off and kept going about my day. However, as the evening rolled around the tickle got a bit more bothersome. Still, I'm OK! I went to dinner, was told by my fiance... just eat ginger, that will cure your tickle. Did it go away, NO.

Sunday, I woke up to raspy voice and deep cough. Yes, I had a full blown cold. Let me tell you, the last thing I wanted to do was go try on wedding dresses with my darth vadar voice. Eek! I was one sad girl on Sunday, but I assure you Lovely will be rescheduled very soon!

In the meantime, this is the perfect cure.

Woah!

It's been how long???

I know I took off to LA and never came back...what happened you ask?

Well, a lot has happened since my brief break at Classic Twist. Life took me on a whirl wind of big life events!

So to explain my absence....

First I got a new job! Yes, that's right. After a year of freelancing, I got a new job here! I took some time to adjust to my new routine, squeezing myself onto the express train in the morning (geez I forgot what a pleasure it is to commute to work - it's the longest two stops EVER and forget about any type of personal space), working in an office full of fashionistas (hello, looking fabulous everyday), fitting in the gym (does my walk to the subway count?) and trying to spend time with the boyfriend. Which brings me to my next bit of exciting news...

One dreary day last month (to my boyfriends dismay), we decided to go for a walk in Central Park. We walked towards the boat house and lake. Even though it was a bit gloomy, the sun was peaking out as the clouds started to splinter outwards. The day was crisp, but the cool air was starting to warm from the sun. It felt good. Clean. Fresh. The weather was on the cusp of a new season. Right along the lake Charles stopped and wanted to take a picture of me with the boat house in the background, then he asked me to take a picture of him. I turned to snap the photo and found him on his knee, presenting me with a beautiful ring, asking "Will you marry me"?

I, of course already smitten since our first meeting 3 1/2 years ago, said YES!

So, my dears that is what I've been up to! Lots of exciting news and events (what can I say, I'm a busy gal)!

Stay tuned for wedding planning, fashion and lots more!

Psst....Next up, a recap of my upcoming appointment here. YIPPIE!
