Sweet & simply done right....

I adore this collection form jackson, johnston & roe. It's fresh, sweet, classic and doesn't miss a beat. I could design my whole summer wardrobe around these simple & fresh pieces.

A few of my favorites are below, but the entire collection is spot-on:

Weekend & beyond.....

{Image via trunk archive}

It appears we have crossed the hurtle of April showers and are quickly moving towards those coveted May flowers. How glorious is this feeling? For some odd reason, winter clung to us this year, inhibiting and burrowing into our inner soles. I feel it in my bones as I peer outside and wonder, could it really be, that spring is here? Can I finally shake the feeling, that this weather is just a tease? I consistently feel that the weather is playing a bad joke on me, riveting a deep down, roaring laugh as he takes the switch and gives us another shot of cold. So you can see why I am always on my toes and weary that this is not the end. Not that the weather has any regard for how I feel, oh I wish it did...I would have told the weather to scoot away months ago, but that's not the case here. I clutch my jacket closely, it's my security blanket and has been for the past 7 months. Today, my palms ache, sticky and wet, I shutter as I think about putting my jacket down, but when I do I feel tremendous joy. In the closet my jacket goes, for today and the weekend. Just a tease? No, my friends getting over the hurtle is the hardest part and I do believe that we are coming through, I see a sunny day and the weekend before us brings much hope. Put away your jacket, throw on that summer dress and frolic in the sun. After all, I think the joke is done.

Have a lovely sunny weekend.

Happy Earth Day!

My Dears.....

Happy Earth Day

A few thinks that have caught my eyes as we thank mother earth on this special day.....

Great tips from Ideal Bite.

Do carry a cute eco-friendly tote....and customize it too (oh, and if you need some enticement they were featured on US Weekly. There you have it...I'm really not the only one that thinks they are hip and oh so cute).

Love yo mama!

Do brown bag it, but get rid of the brown bag for a chic sandwich bag.

If you must buy coffee on the go, say good-bye to that starbuck's sleeve....when you slip this cable knit sleeve around your coffee. I haven't seen a more more stylish way to take coffee to go.

Yes, you should be drinking water everyday. No you shouldn't buy plastic water bottles everyday! Get smart, save money, be kind to the earth and carry a reusable water bottle!

Where'd you get your jacket? Here! Yes, I did and you should too.

Snuggle into bed with these sheets...they are simply divine.

Be curious, go to the links and explore. There is so much more we can do for our earth so get to it...NOW!

Adorn yourself with jewelry!

Last summer I was at a party and this older woman came up to me and started telling me a joke. Now for the life of me, I can't remember the details of this joke, but I do remember the premise. In the joke the woman had clothed herself in excess, and at the punch line the older woman snickered. I squinted and looked at her, laughing just to be polite. As you would have it I had adorned myself with a large green and white vintage beaded necklace (which is one of my favorite purchases), gold disc earrings and a few bangles in various sizes, colors and styles which clinked around my wrist. Hmm...joke, huh? I'm not sure she wasn't referring to me when telling this joke. In fact, I’m pretty sure she was talking about me, given the little snicker as she walked away. However, I also walked away with a little twinkle in my eye and a bounce in my step, some people, will never understand and you know what that's fine by me!

Trend: Layering Jewelry.

I have coveted this trend for sometime. I don't mean putting on earrings and a bracelet. Let yourself go a little wild. Stack on bangles, wear two necklaces, do what you please! However, I must warn you there is a fine line between excess and being well put together. So proceed with caution and be tasteful. You don’t want to end up looking like you're wearing your jewelry box or you’ll be the one snickered at and for good reason.

Here are a few examples of how to layer jewelry:

Divine ruffles=a good week ahead.....

Monday's are always a bit hard for me....putting the weekend behind you and gearing up for yet another shot of reality, not my ideal cup of tea. However, the idea of adorning myself with this many ruffles is divine. So luxurious and stunning. What better way to start a Monday?? Let's have a fabulous and fun week!

Taking fashion cues from Drew....

{Images from fashionchips}

I typically don't cover celebrity style, it's just not my style. I like to take my cues from the people immersed in the fashion industry, those of us who live, work, create and dream it every single day. So this type of post won't happen all too often but I had to post it for a few reasons......

(1) I think Drew Barrymore looks absolutely fabulous in this picture!
(2) I love this Narciso Rodriguez dress. It's not often that you see horizontal stripes and an asymmetrical dress in one....I'm loving it! Classic, sexy, polished...Oh so chic!
(3) I really like the whole look she has going on. Hair pulled back in a asymmetrical braid, red peep-toe heels, red lipstick, minimalist jewelry.....

Well done Drew!

Spring Coat....

No matter how much I keep wishing that it would get warmer, the truth is, it's still cold out! I hate admitting it but it's true....this means it's time to find a great new spring coat!

I'm really into this Anorak by Built by Wendy....

Eco-friendly chic totes....

I was in Barnes and Noble yesterday grabbing a magazine and the woman in front of me was talking about how surprised she was that people were still taking plastic bags. I felt foolish as I sheepishly took my plastic bag. I have to admit I have been a little slow making eco-friendly changes. I do believe in making these small changes to do my part to help our environment, but have been having trouble feeling inspired. I then stumbled upon these cute canvas bags on Etsy. They are chic, eco-friendly. and SO CUTE!!

Say good-bye to plastic bags and hello to these adorable canvas totes!

A Charming Hello......

Call me old fashion, but there is something very special about receiving a note in the mail. My grandmother was so good about sending a card for every holiday or just a little note to let me know she was thinking of me. I don't write letters as much as I would like....with all the technology I find that I write e-mail or text more then taking out my pen and a cute note card to jot something to a loved one. I am going to start writing more letters and thank you notes. There is some adorable stationary out there and I'm going let it inspire me to take out my pen and let the writing begin!

A few of my most coveted note cards.....

Just for fun, how could you resist???

Trend Report....Fold and Roll

I remember being in junior high and pegging and rolling jeans were so trendy. You really were not cool if you didn't fold and roll your jeans. When the trend ended I didn't really anticipate seeing it again.....however, with the revival of the boyfriend and roughed up, worn in jeans I have continuously seen jeans pegged and rolled. To my surprise, this style of rolling the jeans came back to me instantly. I was a little weary of it at first and then next thing you knew I was experiencing my junior high giggles as I pegged and rolled. Does some part of me secretly want to be back in junior high? Maybe it's the evolution of Gossip Girl? Not sure, what it all means, but I do know that I find myself smiling, sometimes taking a moment to remember those days and then giggling as I'm reaching down to peg and roll. Whatever, I'm loving this peg and rolled jean look!

Some peg, some just roll others combine the two......

Adorne your boots with 2 Bandits

I feel in love with The 2 Bandits when I stumbled upon these sweet accessories. I couldn't think of a better way to spruce up my tired boots! The best part is they are affordable, so buy a few and change your look with the weather, your mood or when ever you please! As a huge fan of all things vintage I love that they offer a line of vintage bandits too! Whether you're a solid tribal band girl or like to be a little adorned with a pendent, they'll have a bandit that's right for you. I know I won't be moving into spring without a little help from The 2 Bandits!

My favorite...

New discovery.....Three Potato Four

I just discovered this website, and absolutely love their collection of original new and vintage home decor, accessories, tabletop and collaboration collections. Three Potato Four is a home decor playground for anyone looking to spruce up a room or just add a few whimsical design elements. One of my favorite pieces is this piece of artwork. It's a collaboration piece between Three Potato Four and Jim Datz. I just adore the use of colors and 50's retro vibe. It would be perfect for my home office!

Don't Tip Toe...It's Coming to NYC!

There has been a buzz in the air for the past few weeks. Heavily weaving in and out of conversations. I'll catch a snippet in the middle of a sentence, "I can't wait." A beginning of another sentence, "It's going to be huge and I mean HUGE," or "I'm going to leave work early, I couldn't miss such a big event, EVER." Today, that buzz got louder and began to ring in my ears, threatening me at every corner. Riding in the car, I looked out the window and swear I could hear the voices, shrieks, a shrill laugh, "it's coming, it's coming, only one more day!" Tomorrow the streets of NYC will be swarming with the click-clack of heels moving quickly down Soho's sidewalks. Excitement thick in the air, the bubble is about to sure to get there early because you don't want to miss's finally here after being 5 months late....
